The river Vero canyon

This is the most popular and most frequently visited canyon in the Sierra de Guara and the whole of the province of Huesca.

THE DESCENT

This well-known canyon has few difficulties but at the same time there are a series of dark corners, confusions, pools, rocks and gorges that make it extremely attractive.

The canyon offers a total length of eight kilometres and a 250 metre difference between the highest and lowest points. It is possible to go canyoning at almost any time of year, although it is not recommended when the water level of the river is high. Sometimes the canyon can get quite crowded, especially during summer weekends.

On the way down, you pass the Lecina gorges, walls, wall paintings, an underground passage known as los Oscuros, the Clusas gorge and high cliffs such as la Cocineta and la Gran Visera. Finally, you will come to the Villacantal gorge, where after crossing a beautiful landscape you will see a bridge of the same name. Walk to the dam and from there continue down to the streets of Alquézar.
